Resources for Parents Program

The Resources for Parent program provides a four session workshop on interviewing skills, resume writing support, group career coaching. and financial education.

After successful completion of the program, we match participants with job openings from our employer network. Parent participants are also given a stipend or a  gift card to support basic needs such as food or shelter. We additionally offer, 1:1 support via career coaching to guide parent participants in securing work and follow up with to inquire how the job search is progressing and provide additional ongoing assistance as needed.

The overall outcome the program intends to achieve is to increase the Economic Mobility & Stability of parents and support the prevention of further economic circumstances that may cause poverty and homelessness.

Our programs and services are open to all parents, with a focus on women caregivers and mothers who are disproportionately impacted by caregiving-related barriers to economic stability.

We do this by:

  • Preparing parents for the modern workforce: participants will explore and assess their career interests, skills, values, and personal brand to better position themselves to find and retain  employment.

  • Supporting our parents with obtaining a job within 3-6 months

  • Gathering, educating and informing parent's workforce needs. This information will be used to inform businesses within our employer network and further our workplace rights for parents advocacy efforts and get parents hired and keep parents employed.
